Vodafone Idea Appoints Abhijit Kishore As New CEO
The development comes as current CEO Akshaya Moondra’s term is set to expire on 18 August
(The Corner Office Journal) -- Vodafone Idea Ltd. appointed Abhijit Kishore as its new chief executive officer, effective 19 August, following the expiry of Akshaya Moondra’s term.
Kishore is current serving as chief operating officer of the company and his appointment as CEO will be for three years, the Indian telecom operator said in a stock exchange announcement.
Vodafone Idea said Kishore, who is with the company since March 2015, has held multiple senior leadership roles within the organization, both at circle operations and corporate levels.
He has an experience of over 27 years in the Indian telecom industry across functions and geographies, it added.
Kishore is an alumnus of Delhi University and FORE School of Management, Delhi, according to the statement. He has also completed the senior leadership programs from IIM Ahmedabad and London Business School, it said.
Vodafone Idea said Moondra was appointed as CEO with effect from 19 August 2022 for three years and his tenure will conclude on 18 August 2025.
