Vedanta Appoints Rajiv Kumar As CEO-Aluminum Business
Kumar will lead overall strategy for the aluminum business, including an effective demerger approach for maximizing value
(The Corner Office Journal) -- Vedanta Ltd. said its board appointed Rajiv Kumar as chief executive officer of the company’s aluminum business with effect from today.
Kumar, who has over three decades of operational experience in the steel and mining sectors, joins Vedanta Aluminium from Tata Steel Ltd., the diversified natural resources conglomerate said in a stock exchange announcement.
Vedanta said Kumar will lead overall strategy for the aluminum business, including an effective demerger approach for maximizing value, development of strategic alliances to fast-track business delivery as well as marketing and ESG.
He will drive adoption and deployment of technologies and processes, with a focus on innovation and digitalization for business transformation, it added.
Kumar, who holds a General Management Degree from INSEAD France, is a Metallurgical Engineer from BIT Sindri, according to the statement.
