UPL Appoints Sujoy Mazumdar As General Counsel, Bikash Prasad As CFO
Mazumdar’s expertise spans compliance and litigation strategy, while Prasad’s expertise spans risk management and finance-business partnerships
(The Corner Office Journal) -- Indian agrochemicals producer UPL Ltd. appointed Sujoy Mazumdar as group general counsel, and Bikash Prasad as group chief financial officer.
Mazumdar, whose appointment is effective from 1 June 2025, has extensive experience in legal operations across over 60 countries, UPL said in a stock exchange announcement.
He will lead strategic legal initiatives, including litigation, M&A, joint ventures, and corporate restructuring, while shaping governance and compliance frameworks for the group, it noted.
The company said Mazumdar, a gold medalist from Symbiosis Law College, began his career with RPG Group, managing major litigations and regulatory reforms in the energy sector.
In 2000, he joined Schlumberger, where he held multiple leadership roles across India, the Middle East, Europe, and the US, overseeing legal operations, compliance, M&A, and corporate governance, UPL said.
His expertise spans governance, compliance, litigation strategy and sustainability, it noted.

New Group CFO
UPL said its board also appointed Bikash Prasad as group CFO with effect from 1 June 2025, after the retirement of Anand Vora.
The company said previously, Prasad was president and CFO at Olam Agri during his 19-year tenure with the Olam Group. With over 25 years of experience, he has led corporate restructuring, IPO-readiness, finance strategy and digital transformation, it added.
His expertise spans governance, risk management, ESG and finance-business partnerships, UPL said.
The company said Vora will cease to be the CFO from the close of business hours on 31 May on account of attaining superannuation.
Vora, however, will continue to be associated with UPL as a strategic advisor to the group management team on specific key projects, it added, noting that he will be designated as finance director.
