Reliance Power Appoints Neeraj Parakh As CEO

(The Corner Office Journal) -- Reliance Power Ltd. appointed Neeraj Parakh as executive director and chief executive officer of the company with effect from today (20 January).
The appointment of Parakh, who joined Reliance Group 21 years ago, is for three years, Reliance Power said in a stock exchange announcement. The appointment is subject to the approval of members.
The Indian power producer said Parakh has experience of around three decades, including more than 20 years with Reliance Group. He has been instrumental in delivering numerous large-scale projects such as Yamuna Nagar, Hisar, Rosa, Sasan, Butibori, Damodar Valley Corporation, and renewable energy ventures like Solar PV and Solar CSP, it added.
Reliance Power noted these projects collectively contribute over 10 gigawatts of power generation at a capital expenditure of 50,000 crore rupees ($5.77 billion).
Parakh is an engineering graduate in Production Engineering from YCCE Nagpur (1993) and a postgraduate in Business Administration from Welingkar Institute of Management, Mumbai (1996), according to the statement.
