(The Corner Office Journal) -- JSW Infrastructure Ltd. said it appointed Rinkesh Roy as joint managing director and chief executive officer of the company, effective 8 November.

The appointment of Roy, currently president of the company, is for three years, subject to approval of shareholders, India’s second-largest private port operator said in a stock exchange announcement.

Roy, who was appointed as president of the company on 1 August, holds Master’s Degree in Public Management from Kennedy School of Government - Harvard University, and Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy - Fellowship, National University of Singapore, according to the statement.

Roy, 54, was previously associated with the government and has an experience of over three decades in railway operation, shipping, ports and logistics, it said.

The development comes as the company’s current Joint MD & CEO Arun Maheshwari will step down from his role, effective 7 November, and move to a new role within the JSW Group.

JSW Infrastructure said Maheshwari, however, will continue to serve as a non-executive director on the company’s board.
