(The Corner Office Journal) -- The cases related to the corporate disputes at India’s National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) won’t be heard today (31 October) due to holiday on occasion of Diwali (Deepavali), the Hindu festival of lights.

All the tribunal benches will resume normal functioning from Monday (4 November), except Guwahati and Mumbai, according to the NCLT’s 2024 calendar posted on its website.

The Guwahati bench will function on 1 November (Friday) too, while the Mumbai bench would remain shut for the entire next week and resume normal functioning from 11 November, the calendar showed.

There are 16 NCLT benches across India, including the principal bench in New Delhi.

The NCLT is a quasi-judicial authority incorporated for dealing with corporate disputes that are civil arising under the Companies Act.
