Hindustan Unilever Appoints Niranjan Gupta as CFO-Designate

Niranjan Gupta to succeed Ritesh Tiwari as CFO with effect from 1 November 2025

(The Corner Office Journal) -- Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (HUL) said its board appointed Niranjan Gupta as chief financial officer - designate with effect from 1 September 2025.


The board also approved Gupta’s appointment as executive director – finance and CFO for five years with effect from 1 November 2025, subject to necessary approvals, the Indian consumer goods major said in a stock exchange announcement.


Gupta will succeed Ritesh Tiwari, who is appointed as global head of M&A and treasury for Unilever Plc with effect from 1 November 2025. Tiwari will be based in London.


About Niranjan Gupta


HUL said Gupta began his career with the company and spent two decades across several leadership roles in the organization. He has strong experience across finance, mergers and acquisitions, supply chain, and strategic roles in diverse industries, it added.


Following his stint with HUL, Gupta spent three-years at Vedanta Ltd. and then joined Hero MotoCorp Ltd. in 2017 as CFO. He was, subsequently, elevated as the CEO in 2023.


HUL said Gupta played a pivotal role in strengthening the financial health of their business, creating a strategy for the long term and establishing strategic partnerships, including a collaboration with Harley Davidson.


“I am pleased to welcome Niranjan [Gupta] back to Hindustan Unilever and I am confident that he will play a pivotal role in steering the company towards its next phase of growth,” HUL Managing Director and CEO Priya Nair said.


In the new position, Gupta will report to Nair, according to the statement.
