Hero MotoCorp CEO Niranjan Gupta Resigns; Vikram Kasbekar Named Acting CEO
Gupta’s last working day will be 30 April and Executive Director Kasbekar will assume the role of acting CEO from 1 May
(The Corner Office Journal) -- Hero MotoCorp Ltd.’s Chief Executive Officer Niranjan Gupta resigned to pursue other opportunities, and the company appointed Vikram Kasbekar as acting CEO.
Gupta’s last working day will be 30 April and Kasbekar, executive director of operations, will assume the role of acting CEO from 1 May, the Indian two-wheeler manufacturer said in a stock exchange announcement.
“An industry veteran with experience spanning research & development, operations, supply chain, and engineering, Vikram [Kasbekar] will guide the organization and leadership through this transition until a new CEO is appointed, Hero MotoCorp Executive Chairman Pawan Munjal said.
Hero MotoCorp said Kasbekar, who joined the company in 2001, has worked across diverse sectors such as commercial vehicles, auto ancillary and two-wheelers.
Management Reshuffle
The company also announced several changes in the senior management personnel.
Chief Procurement Officer Ram Kuppuswamy will assume an expanded role of chief operations officer - manufacturing, effective 1 April, overseeing all plant operations and the quality function.
The company elevated Ashutosh Varma, national sales head of India business unit (IBU), to the position of chief business officer (CBO) - IBU, effective 1 May. Varma will take over from Ranjivjit Singh, who will be completing his tenure with the company on 30 April.
Hero MotoCorp said Jyoti Singh, HR head - R&D, will step into the expanded role of deputy chief human resources officer, effective 1 February.
The company also said its EV & Emerging Mobility Business Unit will transition to a fully independent and empowered unit, effective 1 February.
