Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. said Nitin Mittal, president of technology & data, resigned and the company made the strategic changes in the vertical.

Mittal stepped down from his position today to pursue interests outside the organization, Zee said in a stock exchange announcement.

Zee said its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Punit Goenka accepted Mittal’s resignation and also streamlined the Indian media and entertainment company’s technology and data vertical.

As part of the strategic changes -- Amrit Thomas, responsible for data science; Kishore Krishnamurthy, responsible for engineering; Bhushan Kolleri responsible for product; and Vishal Somani, responsible for enterprise and content technology; -- on an interim basis, will report to Amit Goenka, president of digital businesses & platforms.

Zee, which is facing arbitration proceedings from Star India Private Ltd. over cricket broadcast deal, said the company is implementing significant steps to build a new lateral structure that lays a sharper emphasis on accountability and results under the guidance of the board.

Zee various steps are aimed at achieving a cost-effective structure, optimizing the resources and maintaining a focus on quality in order to enable continued success for the long-term growth of the company, according to the statement.
