Trent Appoints Palaniswamy Venkatesalu As Managing Director

Trent Ltd., part of Tata Group, appointed Palaniswamy Venkatesalu as managing director of the company for five years.

The appointment of Venkatesalu will be effective from 6 October, subject to approval of shareholders at the forthcoming annual general meeting, the Indian apparel retailer said in a stock exchange announcement.

The present tenure of Venkatesalu, who was appointed as executive director and chief executive officer of the company in October 2021 for three years, concludes on 5 October.

Venkatesalu joined Trent in 2008 and has been with the company for over 15 years in different functional roles, including chief financial officer, head of finance & accounts, legal and secretarial functions. He is also a director of the subsidiaries and joint venture companies of the company.

Prior to Trent, he was associated with Tata Administrative Services since 2001 and was formerly with Tata Sons Ltd. as a part of the Group Finance team.

Venkatesalu is a commerce graduate, alumni of Harvard Business School (Advanced Management Program – AMP), Master’s in Management from Symbiosis (SIIB) Pune and CFA from the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (ICFAI), according to the statement.
