Shoppers Stop Appoints Kavindra Mishra MD & CEO

Shoppers Stop Ltd. appointed Kavindra Mishra as managing director & chief executive officer of the company.

Mishra’s appointment is effective from today (29 April) for three years, subject to approval of shareholders, the Indian departmental store operator said in a stock exchange announcement.

Last year, Shoppers Stop had promoted Kavindra Mishra to the position of executive director and chief executive officer following the resignation of MD & CEO Venugopal Nair.

Previously, Mishra served as chief commercial officer and CEO of Homestop.

Shoppers Stop said its board also appointed Ashish Hemrajani and Purvi Sheth as additional directors (non-executive independent directors) of the company for five years.

The company said Hemrajani is the founder and CEO of Big Tree Entertainment Private Ltd., which operates online entertainment platform BookMyShow, offering tickets and end-to-end management for live events and movies as well as sports, games and musicals.

Sheth, who obtained a CPD Business Strategy & Leadership Management from Wharton Business School, holds positions at various listed companies as an independent director, according to the statement.
