Jindal Steel & Power Ltd.’s Managing Director Bimlendra Jha resigned from the company, citing personal reasons, after less than two years in the role.

Jha, who was appointed on 14 August 2022 for five years, resigned from the company with effect from the close of business hours on 31 January, the steelmaker said in a stock exchange announcement today.

He will continue to be associated with the company in the capacity of advisor.

Jindal Steel said its Wholetime Director Sabyasachi Bandyopadhyay will assume the responsibilities of managing director for the time-being. He has been involved in the company’s steel business units for over nine years, it added.

The company said Bandyopadhyay has experience of leading diverse functions, including operations, steel technology, digitalization, supply chain, strategic sourcing, and sales & marketing.

Bandyopadhyay, who holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgy form Jadavpur University, is an M-Tech in Extractive Metallurgy from NIT, Durgapur, according to the statement.
