Jindal Stainless Ltd. said its board appointed Tarun Khulbe as chief executive officer and whole-time director of the company.

The board had taken the decision in a meeting last week with an aim to put in place a professionally managed and unified organization structure, the Indian stainless manufacturer said in a stock exchange announcement today.

Khulbe, with his nearly 20-year stint at Jindal Stainless, has played an instrumental role in expanding businesses and leading the profitable growth of the company, according to the statement. He also played a pivotal role in the operational turnaround of the company’s Jajpur facility, it said.

Jindal Stainless said Khulbe joined the company as a general manager for the cold rolling mills at Hisar, Haryana, in October 2004.

The company said after gaining comprehensive exposure to the entire spectrum of operations and leading high-performing teams to deliver value and volume expansions, he was appointed as the head of the entire stainless steel operations in August 2012. Later, he assumed the role of director and chief operating officer, it noted.

Khulbe started his career with Raymond Steel, which later merged into ThyssenKrupp, according to the statement. He is an engineering graduate from MITS, Gwalior, and acquired his MBA from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai, it said.
