Indian law firm Economic Laws Practice (ELP) appointed Sanjit Nagarkatti, former general counsel of Ola Electric Mobility Private Ltd., as a partner in its Bengaluru office.

Nagarkatti has over three decades’ in-house practice, encompassing legal affairs, corporate governance, consulting, litigation, and environmental management across diverse sectors, ELP said in a statement.

Nagarkatti, an alumnus of Bangalore University from the 1991 batch, started his career with United Breweries Ltd. and subsequently worked with organizations, including Vodafone Essar Ltd., Ola Electric, Dow Chemical, Syngenta, and Johnson & Johnson, it added.

ELP Managing Partner Suhail Nathani said Nagarkatti’s vast experience as a general counsel will help the firm further focus its offerings to promoters and in-house counsels and meet their diverse needs for regulatory, corporate and tax issues.

ELP, a leading full-service law firm established in 2001 with offices in Mumbai, Delhi National Capital Region, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, GIFT City and Chennai, said it now has 44 partners.

Along with Nagarkatti, Sukriti Singh also joined the firm as an associate partner at the Bengaluru office, ELP said. Previously, she worked as associate director (legal) at ride-hailing company Ola.
