Dr Lal PathLabs Appoints Shankha Banerjee AS CEO

Dr. Lal PathLabs Ltd. said its board appointed Shankha Banerjee as chief executive officer of the company, effective 21 May.

Banerjee is currently serving as CEO-Group/Associate Companies, the Indian medical diagnostics chain said in a stock exchange announcement.

Banerjee joined Dr. Lal PathLabs in July 2014 as Chief Operating Officer-Region II and later got promoted as chief growth officer and then moved to the position of chief operating officer.

He has previously worked with Castrol India Ltd., BP Lubricants and Pidilite Industries Ltd.

Banerjee is an alumnus of Delhi College of Engineering and Mumbai-based SP Jain Institute of Management & Research, according to the statement. He has also done ‘BP Sales and Marketing Leadership Development Course’ at Kellogs, USA, it said.

The latest development comes after CEO Bharath Uppiliappan resigned from the company on 3 March to take up an external assignment. He requested to be relieved from the services on or before 20 May.
