Cyrus Poonawalla Group Appoints Keki Mistry As Strategic Advisor

Diversified Cyrus Poonawalla Group appointed Keki Mistry, former chief executive officer and vice chairman of HDFC Ltd., as strategic advisor to all the financial services ventures spearheaded by Adar Poonawalla.

Mistry has over four decades of experience in the Indian financial services industry, Cyrus Poonawalla Group said in a statement.

Mistry had served as CEO and vice chairman of HDFC since 2010 and post the company’s merger with HDFC Bank, he joined the bank as an additional and non- executive director (non-independent) on 30 June 2023. He is also the non-executive chairman of HDFC Ergo General Insurance Company Ltd.

Adar Poonawalla, chairman of Poonawalla Fincorp and CEO of Serum Institute of India, said Mistry’s experience in the Indian financial services sector will help the group to scale the profitability of its financial services business through prudent risk management while managing business volatility.

The Pune, Maharashtra-based Cyrus Poonawalla Group’s business spans pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, finance, clean energy, hospitality and realty, as well as aviation, according to the statement.
