Coromandel International Appoints Arun Alagappan As Chairman

Coromandel International Ltd. said its board appointed Arun Alagappan as executive chairman, effective 26 April, following the retirement of A. Vellayan.

Alagappan has been the executive vice chairman of the company since February 2021, the Indian agri solutions provider said in a stock exchange announcement.

Coromandel said Vellayan retired from the position of chairman and non-executive director with effect from the close of business hours on 25 April.

The board appointed Vellayan as chairman emeritus with effect from today, given his contributions to the company over the past many years, it added.

Coromandel operates in two major segments, namely nutrient and other allied businesses and crop protection, according to the statement. These include fertilizer, crop protection, bio products, specialty nutrients and organic businesses, it said.
