Footwear maker Bata India Ltd. appointed Meeru Gupta as legal head of the company, effective 18 March.
The development comes as the company’s current Legal Head Manoj Goswani is set to retire on 31 March, Bata India said in a stock exchange announcement.
The company said Gupta has two decades of experience in highly regulated environments, across emerging geographies and her core expertise lies in building legal commercial strategies.
She is proficient in corporate laws, M&A transactions (domestic and cross-border), dispute resolution, compliances & audits, governance and other legal related areas, it added.
Gupta holds a Master’s Degree in Law from Kurukshetra University, according to the statement.
