Zee, Sony Units To Discuss Merger Deadline Extension

Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. and Sony Group’s Indian units will enter into good faith negotiations to extend their December merger deadline.

Culver Max Entertainment Private Ltd. (formerly known as Sony Pictures Networks India Private Ltd.) and Bangla Entertainment Private Ltd. have informed that they will enter into good faith negotiations with the company on the merger deadline, Zee said in a stock exchange announcement.

The parties will discuss the extension of the date required to make the merger scheme effective by a reasonable period of time, it added.

The development comes after Zee asked the Sony Group to extend the December merger deadline amid several legal hurdles.
