CG Power Appoints Amar Kaul As Next MD & CEO

CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd. said its board appointed Amar Kaul as next managing director and chief executive officer for five years, effective 25 July.

Natarajan Srinivasan, who has been the managing director of the Company since 26 November 2020, will retire at the close of business hours on 24 July, the engineering conglomerate said in a stock exchange announcement.

Kaul will join the company on 9 July as MD & CEO–Designate and Srinivasan will be available to support the transition.

CG Power, which was engaged in finding a successor for Srinivasan for the last several months, said Kaul has over three decades of work experience.

Starting his career as a quality consultant, Kaul has worked across manufacturing, manufacture and application engineering, supplier and quality development and deployment of six sigma and lean manufacturing, it added.

The company said Kaul has held the executive leadership position leading Europe, Middle East, India and Africa region for compression systems and services in Ingersoll Rand, as well as also served as the chairman and managing director of Ingersoll Rand (India) Ltd. Previously, he has held senior leadership positions in Bharat Forge Ltd. and Delphi.

Kaul holds a B. Tech (Mechanical Engineering) from G.B. Pant University and MS Degree (Engineering Business Management) from Warwick University in UK, according to the statement.

The company, a part of Murugappa Group, said CG Power Chairman Vellayan Subbiah will continue to provide strategic guidance and oversight over the governance process.
